So i know the only way to do this is to apply for the tourist visa when not in Australia.
Has anyone ever successfully done this? How (un)likely is it to be granted the visa? The Immigration Department is a bit unclear on all of that.

I’ll be flying out of Australia to home for break after university ends next month. I was wondering, like, if I will be required to apply for a re-entry visa before I leave Australia? I hold a student visa here in Australia so will I need a re-entry visa to get back into Australia when I come back from break?

Me and my wife both are CIVIL Engineers, we have obtained the skilled independant VISA (permenant Resident) we are planning to move down under by june 2010.
I am applying online through various websites for job without any success. Can anybody help us to secure a job before we enter Australia. We prefer the Brisbane or Gold Coast to settle down.

I want to know how much money I should have before entering Australia as a single baker.
This money should be the money that I would spend on my rent and stuff like that. So, if you are into immigration rules, or you are an Australian who knows about immigration, please let me know about it.
I don’t want to take a lot of money, say AUD10000, just for some months until I secure myself a job.
