Under Australian Law for Migration Agents in Australia to be registered as a person providing immigration assistance they must be registered with the Migration Agents registration Authority (MARA). This Authority regulates the migration advice profession within Australia. It also undertakes a range of functions including administering continuing professional development and monitoring the conduct of registered migration agents.
All Registered Migration Agents are bound by MARAs Code of Conduct in how they interact and work with clients and they also have to meet these standards within the code so that they can re-register annually.

Why a Registered Migration Agent Matters in Visa Application

By , January 14, 2010

Unfortunately, not all of us are celebrities who get visas at the drop of a hat. For most of us ordinary mortals, applying for an Australian visa means paperwork hassles, tedious procedures and protocols at embassies, and endless waiting. This is why the Australian government has authorized migration agents to work in behalf of clients who want their visa application simplified.

Starting 1 October 2006, registered migration agents in and outside Australia may certify copies of original documents pertaining to visa applications. A Registered Migration Agent basically helps you lodge your visa application. He or she will advise you on the appropriate and best visa for you, tell you what documents to submit, help you fill out your forms, and submit the application for you. Especially if you are a busy person who urgently needs to get to Australia but simply cannot carve a schedule to arrange things, a migration agent is your best choice.

Using a Migration Agent

By , January 14, 2010

You don’t have to use a migration agent to help you plan your emigration. However, many people find it highly beneficial because these specialists are legal experts in emigrating and can save you time, stress and money. Using a migration specialist won’t fast-track your application but it could help you get the paperwork filled in more quickly and accurately.

A recent survey revealed that 59.4% of migrants to Australia now use an agent or consultant to help with their applications to emigrate.

Why Choose a Qualified Migration Agent?

By , January 13, 2010

How to Choose a Good Visa Service Provider?
While it is not a legal requirement in Australia to engage a registered visa service provider, it is advised that you do. Isn’t it always better to engage someone who is qualified and really knows what they are doing, because your visa application can be a complex process – right?

There are many steps involved in obtaining a visa and you wouldn’t want to make any careless errors. These could cost you dearly as your visa application may not be the best it can be; something you didn’t mean to do, but did inadvertently anyway.
