Leaving Australia After Working Holiday Visa, Come Back On Tourist Visa?

By , July 13, 2010

So i know the only way to do this is to apply for the tourist visa when not in Australia.
Has anyone ever successfully done this? How (un)likely is it to be granted the visa? The Immigration Department is a bit unclear on all of that.
Thanks

Need Advice For Working Holiday Visa For Australia?

By , July 12, 2010

My boyfriend and I plan on going to Australia on a working holiday visa in a year or so. We have read a lot about it, and the requirements etc. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips, or experience doing this themselves. Is it difficult? Does it take a long time? I am aware you need $5,000 AUD minimum per person in order to go, and that is why we are looking at next January to go, so we can save up. We would like to apply for a second year, and you need a minimum of three months working in agricultural/farming type jobs?
Any advice or tips or anything would be great!
Thanks :)

Gap Year, Thinking About A Working Holiday Visa, But Which Country?

By , February 28, 2010

I’m from the UK so I have a choice of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore, for which to apply for a working holiday visa. I want to go for a year before university, so I’ll be 18 if it makes any difference.
Canada, Australia and New Zealand all seem too ‘normal’ to me, and I think I’d rather go to Japan. Saying that, I can’t speak Japanese which makes it pretty hard to live and work, which leaves Singapore. It looks nice, but that’s it really, nice.
Has anyone got their own preferences? Why? Any particular cities in these countries that would make it more exciting?
I also have the option of any country in the EU, preferably Spain or Portugal; an easier option?
Cheers

Can I Live In Australia On A New Zealand Working Holiday Visa?

By , February 24, 2010

I know this sounds like a stupid question but I understand New Zealand and Australia have visa agreements. I probably know the answer already but i’m trying to figure out a way to live in Australia because I don’t currently qualify for a working visa and have no family there. I plan on studying out there but it’s going to take some time to save money. I’ve already lived in Australia on a working holiday visa so can’t re-apply for one of those. Help!

Can You Claim Tax Back From A Working Holiday In New Zealand?

By , February 23, 2010

I have been working in New Zeland on a casual basis under my 1 year working visa. When we did this in Australia after we had left we were able to claim back all of the tax we had paid whilst we were there. Do you know if you can do the same thing after leaving New Zeland and if so how?
Thanks
