I’m from the UK so I have a choice of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore, for which to apply for a working holiday visa. I want to go for a year before university, so I’ll be 18 if it makes any difference.
Canada, Australia and New Zealand all seem too ‘normal’ to me, and I think I’d rather go to Japan. Saying that, I can’t speak Japanese which makes it pretty hard to live and work, which leaves Singapore. It looks nice, but that’s it really, nice.
Has anyone got their own preferences? Why? Any particular cities in these countries that would make it more exciting?
I also have the option of any country in the EU, preferably Spain or Portugal; an easier option?

I’d like to be somewhere where I can meet lots of other like-minded, similar-aged people, somewhere I could perhaps work in a bar, and somewhere with a good dance music scene (I’m a DJ and would like to do as much of this as possible during a potential visit)….

I live in America and want to move to Australia. I read about the work and holiday visa which allows temporary employment in Australia. If an employer in Australia wants to keep me, could they offer me permanent employment or sponsor me for citizenship?

My son is a plasterer in Northern Ireland. He and his two friends would like to go and work in Australia for 1 year. We dont know where to go to find out how to apply for a visa. I have a sister living in Adelaide, I dont know if that would help his application.

Whilst they are two separate countries one question they do ask (and most arrival cards do btw) is “have you ever been denied a visa, deported or excluded from any other country”.
It’s not a guarantee you won’t be allowed but a question of that type is (I am sure) asked.
