I would like to know if my fiance can apply for a tourist visa and we marry in melbourne so he can stay with me without leaving the country (changing the visa type) and with the same rights to work (i am an international PhD student allowed to work 20 hours per week) OR shall we apply for the prospective marriage visa?. No migration agent wants to answer this whit out money involved. Thanks

My boyfriend (German) and I (Mexican) live together in Thailand. He will be studying in Australia for 1 year and already has his student visa. What type of visa do I need to go with his for the time he’s there? I need a visa so I can work while he’s there.

My boyfriend and I plan on going to Australia on a working holiday visa in a year or so. We have read a lot about it, and the requirements etc. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips, or experience doing this themselves. Is it difficult? Does it take a long time? I am aware you need $5,000 AUD minimum per person in order to go, and that is why we are looking at next January to go, so we can save up. We would like to apply for a second year, and you need a minimum of three months working in agricultural/farming type jobs?
Any advice or tips or anything would be great!
Thanks

Yes. One of the questions on the application form asks if you have ever been declared bankrupt and details must be provided. An individual’s ability to remain solvent is an important factor in deciding to grant a visa.

I am interested in immigrating to Australia after I finish my nursing degree. This is a little complex since my intended is from a foreign country and has to immigrate to the US on an alien spouse visa, then obtain his permanent residency status while I finish my degree, so we can be together during that time. We aren’t married yet, but that’s the easy part. I’m wondering if anyone out there has experience with Australian immigrations and how long approximately. I did visit their website and know nurses are one profession that is sought after by employer-sponsors, especially in medically underserved areas of australia, as there is a shortage of nurses there the same as many other developed nations. Any info appreciated thanks~!
